Unexpected treasure

Once upon a time there was a family that lived on a farm. Mr. Thomas was the father, a hardworking man, who had three children and a beautiful wife whose name was Sonia, yellow bellied woman that she even feared  her own shadow. The whole family was working on the farm when they suddenly heard Sonia's screams coming from the farm winery, she said she saw a flying monster. Mr. Thomas entered inside to investigate  and realized that it was a bat hidden in the dark. Sonia was so terrified that she even got sick. The family was so sad because they  couldn't take her to the hospital because it was too far away from their home. However, Mr.Thomas called a doctor who told them that Sonia had a pre-infarction so she needed to rest and take medicine, which was too expensive, even more than they expected and because of that the family began to sell animals from their farm in order to Sonia would recover soon.

As months passed, Mr. Thomas ended up selling all the animals from the farm, the family soon ran out of money until one day an old woman, whose name was Susy, knocked on the door and offered Mr. Thomas a job as a gardener, fortunately he was a green thumb so much so if he planted a pencil it would still grow. Three times a week Mr. Thomas would go to the old woman's house to maintain her garden, but on a Monday afternoon the family's luck would change. As soon as he got to work, the old woman asked him to plant some beautiful flowers in the backyard and  Mr. Thomas, following the instructions, began to dig holes when suddenly he hit something hard inside of  a hole. Trapped by curiosity he wondered what it could be and dug again until he pulled out a chest that turned out to contain gold and jewels, he was so excited about it and thought it would be a golden opportunity to chance his family's life.

Once in a blue moon the old woman talked to Mr. Thomas but that Monday she asked, if there was nothing new and he thought that he should tell a white lie to save his wife's life, his family, and the farm, then he said no and came out with the chest hidden in a bag.  When Mr. Thomas arrived at the house he told his family what had happened in the garden and they were tickled pink to know that they would rebuild the farm and buy all the medicines that Sonia needed to recover. Although his wife was browned off due to the fact that her husband lied to Ms. Susy, she soon thought that her health, her family's life, and the farm would improve. So she gave him the green light to use the contents of the chest to chance their lives. Time passed and thanks to the unexpected treasure; Sonia recovered completely, the family rebuilt the farm, and they never had problems with money. Now they remembers the day when Mr. Thomas found out the chest as a red letter day.
