Love Idioms

Have you ever been in a relationship with someone who speaks English? Maybe not, but if that happens once, you will want to know some love idioms to express your love to that special person. So, take a look at this!

Love Idioms

Blind date means a date (social meeting) where two people have never met before.

Love at first sight means feeling an immediate attraction or love for someone when you first see or meet him/her.

Hit it off means to immediately become friends with someone.

On the rocks means that the relationship is having problems.

Three little words mean  "I love you".

Leave someone at the altar means to leave someone just before the marriage should happen (couples who get married in a church stand in front of a structure called the altar).

Mr. Right means the man who is the right (or perfect/best) person to marry.

Kiss and made up means to apologize/forgive someone and be a couple (or friends) again.

Pop the question means to propose (ask) marriage to someone.

Tie the knot/get hitched mean to marry; to get marriage

Match made in heaven means a perfect couple (or combination of things).

A Valentine's Day Love Story

Even though Tom and Elizabeth met on a blind date, it was love at first sight. This couple hit it off from the first day.

But after dating a year the relationship was on the rocks because Elizabeth couldn't say those three little words

Elizabeth was scared. A few years before her fiancé had left her at the altar. But after a short time apart, Elizabeth knew that Tom was Mr. Right and they kissed and made up

Four months later, Tom popped the question and they tied the knot on Valentine's Day.

It's been 60 years since Tom and Elizabeth got hitched and their marriage has been a match made in heaven
